The Explorer’s Pass is required because it’s the only way we know whether or not you have an active subscription. Please keep it on your device! 

We’re trying this out as a way to let you play more of our apps (normally $2.99-$3.99 each) at a lower cost. Five apps are available now and more will be released throughout the year.
