Last-minute gift ideas for curious kids

Tinybop Homes Holiday

Kids can decorate for the holidays in Homes

If you want to give your kids apps they’ll love and play all year round (or just need a last-minute gift!), we have a couple tips for you. Here are some ideas for great apps to give and how to do so on the App Store from your mobile device, or in iTunes on your desktop computer.

Apps to give

  • Let your kids have fun while they’re gaining math, literacy, and social studies skills. These 12 apps support learning through play.
  • Common Sense Media shared their Best Learning Apps of 2015 here.
  • Whether you’re at home or visiting friends and family afar for your holiday, Fatherly recommends these apps for traveling and cooking with your kids.
  • Browse Tinybop Loves for personal app recommendations from our team. (You’ll also find great books and albums.)
  • The Tinybop Collection! We’re partial, but this bundle of eight apps is a pretty great deal. You save more than 20% on all our apps and kids get hours of exploration and play.

On your desktop

You can give bundles of apps or single apps from your desktop computer. Here’s how:

  1. Open iTunes on your computer.
  2. Find the app you want to give.
  3. Click the down arrow to the right of the app’s price (under the app's icon in the upper left corner).
  4. Select Gift This App.
  5. Fill out the screen to send your gift. You’ll need the recipient’s email address and will be able to choose the date it’s sent.

On your mobile device

You can only give a single app from your mobile device. If you want to give someone a bundle of apps, hop on a desktop computer and follow the instructions above.

  1. Open the App Store on your device.
  2. Find the app you want to give.
  3. Tap the share button in the top right corner (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  4. Tap Gift in the lower left corner.
  5. Fill out the screen to send your gift. You’ll need the recipient’s email address and will be able to choose the date it’s sent.
