Loves: sounds of summer
For road trips or trips to the grocery store, here are some bright tunes to fill your family’s ears:
- The Nagoya, Japan-based musical duo Lullatone, recommended by Jessie, creates bright beats and cheerful melodies that they refer to as “tiny songs” (which of course we love).
- If ever there was a soundtrack that celebrated childhood, it’s Jack Johnson’s Sing-a-longs and Lullabies for the film Curious George, recommended by Monique.
- The Walkmen’s Walter Martin’s solo album We’re All Young Together, recommended by Josh, is full of memorable—but not maddeningly so—songs for kids and adults alike.
- Peet Seeger might be the master of American folk songs that everyone can’t help but sing or hum. Kika recommends his classic album Birds, Beasts, Bugs, and Fishes.
