Considered an instant classic upon its release in France, Around the World with Mouk follows a small bear with a big head on a trip around the world. This oversized book is a visual feast of Richard Scarry-like richness and action. Each page is presented as an illustration of a letter sent back home from a specific country. While the book doesn’t follow a macro-level storyline, each page holds lots of little micro-stories; often just small exchanges between characters. Ultimately the book is less about the story and more about diving into the exuberant drawings and having fun. For many kids, the book will prompt questions about different parts of the world. As an added bonus, two large pages of vinyl stickers are included allowing kids to create their own storylines.
