Shadow

This is an evocative and beautifully drawn picture book you’ll enjoy reading with your kids. I say “read,” but the book is almost wordless, and really about discussing pictures. The story follows a small girl through an adventure she conjures by projecting shadows in a dark basement. If you read this book with your kids before bedtime, I highly recommend smuggling a flashlight into the room. When the lights go out, shine the flashlight on the ceiling, and encourage your children to evoke their own shadow worlds on the walls.
