A man wakes up without a head and must retrace his steps to find it.
I remember encountering The Man Who Lost His Head as a boy at the public library in Diboll, Texas, and being tickled pink by it. I read it; I re-read it, and then read it out loud to my little brothers. We laughed lots and loudly. Perhaps it was our non-library-like behavior or perhaps it was the weirdness of the book, but the local librarian seemed spooked by our reaction. She took the book from us and filed it away. I never saw it in the library again, but always remembered it.
