To call Mike Perry an illustrator would be a great understatement. He’s also a painter, typographer, sculptor, photographer, printmaker and constructor of patterns, zines, and workshop spaces (as well as much, much, more). He works in wood, metal, paint, porcelain, on skateboards and endless other mediums. And, regardless of the material, Perry’s artwork explodes with bright colors, a saturation of shapes, and anthropomorphized objects (like apples and machines). He often combines this rainbow of colors with quippy phrases like “Let’s Go Beyond!” and “It’s was a beautiful day,” leading to memorable, joyful and eye-catching works.
